I'm working on my 2nd Shoalwater Shawl right now. I really love this pattern and after the practice shawl I did I've pretty much got it down. This was my first lace project... so the first one I did in a bulky variegated wool so I could see the stitches better. It helped, A LOT!
Here is a picture of the start of the one I'm working on now. I'm doing this one in Plassard Symphonie in blues and a little green. I'm using two dye lots that I'm going to alternate between because one of them has some black in it and I (obviously) wanted some black stripes in the shawl.
I haven't had time to work on it lately. I'm ready to work on it, I sit down, then something distracts me. At the moment it's the hormones the doctor has put me on. I had a large fluid-filled cyst on an ovary (let me just say MAJOR PAIN) so he dosed me up trying to get it to shrink. It did but that means I need to stay on low dose birth control to prevent its return. Which would be wonderful if it wasn't for the fact that the effect of it is to trick my body into thinking it is pregnant (that is what birth control does) and what happens when I am pregnant? I puke my guts up 14 hours a day, 7 days a week, for 9 months. At least during pregnancy there is an end in sight. I can say it isn't quite that bad but still, it's bad enough. I've been unable to eat without puking approximately 3 days this week. On the other hand, can we all say crash diet?
Bart of course is like "Look at the bright side honey, you'll lose some weight... uh, not that you need to lose weight or anything! I didn't mean it like that honey, honestly!" Gotta adore a man who not only sticks his foot in his mouth but damn near swallows it whole. :-)
