DH woke me up on his way to work this morning. Lovely man that he is! So here I sit, eating Cookie Crisp (nothing like a bowlful of chocolate chip cookies early in the morning;-) and updating my blog.
Friday night on the way to the movies I started a log cabin blanket, inspired by the Mason-Dixon Knitting book I recently purchased. I'm really enjoying this project, although I just started it so that could change at any given moment, but the cool part is I've just been grabbing whatever yarn I have in the same weight and sticking it in wherever. I did order some more WOTA from Knitpicks last night so that I would have some more color variety. I tend to steer towards the same colors in all my projects and I'm trying to branch out. I have a feeling this one is going to end up with every color of the rainbow and incredibly gawdy looking but hey, who doesn't need a blankie like that? My kids will love it if no one else does! The cool thing about this technique is that my grandma is a quilter and I love quilts but I can't seem to cut a straight line no matter how hard I try, so with this I can "quilt" without having to actually quilt! YeeHaw!
Alright, so I'm off to work on it some more while I wait for the kiddos to awaken... I should probably go ahead and get them up since school is coming soon but what kind of insane person would actually do that?

The blanket will be beautiful! Although, given the colors you've used so far, I think it still might be more subdued than the "grandma quilt" in my house pictured here:
